Patient safety and video production to disseminate knowledge to health professionals

Abstract

Objective: to present the production of a video that describes everyday situations in which patients, family members and professionals themselves are exposed to the risk of care incidents, to encourage reflection on the practices of health professionals. Method: A script was written to create an animation containing: fictional characters in real situations of assistance in primary health care, hospitals and home; physical characteristics and fictitious names; narration text and duration. Results: After the production of the video, it was published on the YouTube© virtual platform, with the title “What if care is not safe?”. Since publication, there have been 470 views and 30 comments. Contributions to Nursing: It is expected to contribute to the training of Nursing professionals to make Patient Safety one of the core of health care. Final considerations/ Conclusion: The audiovisual production presented can contribute to the reduction of adverse events through the awareness of health professionals.
