Abstract

Aim: To study the family context of adolescents in compliance with socio-educational measures in a partial freedom regime.

Methodology: This is a qualitative study carried out with 15 family members, whose data were collected through a semi-structured interview submitted to Alceste Software and analyzed by the Bardin content analysis technique.

Results: The results indicated four thematic classes: the involvement of the child with drugs and the infraction in the family context and the role of the socio-educational measure; the difficulty of monitoring the child and the risk of the street and drugs for infractions; the daily struggle of the mother in the care of the children and study and work as indicators of a better future; and stories of lives marked by violence, social abandonment and coping strategies.

Conclusion: There was found to be a need for strengthening the protective potential of families, aiming at effective results in the process of resocialization.
