Interventions for the prevention of violence in nursing work: scoping review

Objective: identify intervention models to prevent, curb and intervene in situations of violence in nursing work. Method: scope review in stages: 1) assembly of the search strategy in the databases: PubMed, BVS and EMBASE from 2015 to 2023; 2) registration of the protocol in the Open Science Framework (OPS); 3) selection of articles through the Covidence online software platform; 4) data extraction and analysis. Results: 864 studies were identified, 114 were selected for full reading and 11 were included. The majority were quasi-experimental research, carried out in the United States of America and in a hospital environment. The emergency sector and the use of simulation as an intervention method prevailed in the analysis. Conclusion: there are intervention models that can be used to train nursing professionals, with an emphasis on simulation as the prevalent and most recommended strategy for preventing violence in nursing work.
