Abstract

Introduction: Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) has been widely used by health professionals. Objective: To identify behaviors, knowledge, skills, resources, opinions and barriers perceived by pediatric physiotherapists in relation to EBP. Methods: A quantitative research was carried out where a questionnaire with domains was applied, about behavior, knowledge, skills, resources, opinions and perceived barriers in relation to EBP formulated to know the interaction of the professional with EBP. Results: The final response rate was 94.4%. Approximately 35% of respondents reported a clear understanding of different types of study; and only 17.6% believe they have enough knowledge to apply EBP. The most reported barriers were related to the difficulty of obtaining full-text articles (88.2%) and lack of training in EBP (88.2%). Conclusion: Physical therapists report positive attitudes regarding the use of EBP, on the other hand, there are some barriers that hinder the implementation of EBP in the professional routine.
