Abstract

The study explored how people with low back pain perceive communication with the physiotherapist in the therapeutic relationship based on a systematic review of qualitative studies, known as metasynthesis. The PubMed, EMBASE, BIREME, PsycINFO, Scopus and Scielo databases were consulted and the terms Back Pain and Qualitative Research were used. Methodological quality was assessed by the Critical Appraisal Skills Program. The analysis of the five studies included in this review showed that the satisfaction of people with low back pain is related to the physical therapist's ability to provide explanations about the exercises and the multidimensionality of pain and to provide guidance that contributes to carrying out daily activities.
